You need to draw realism. Yes.
I have a hard time with it myself. I can’t draw hands or pose good, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop drawing. Realism is the base of just about every art style. It’s important.
But…I hate it when people say realism is the only valid art form and anything else isn’t art.
That’s a load of shit. That’s why I’m afraid of going to art school. I’ll get screamed at by art teachers and hipsters who think they know everything without actually helping. It reeks of smug elitism.
